New Youth Director Starts at Waverly First Baptist: Jessica Williams, a graduate of Davis College will become our church's new youth director effective April 11th. Jessica brings to our church plenty of energy and a real love for the Lord and for the kids. The First Baptist Church of Waverly is an evangelical American Baptist Church on the New York/Pennsylvania border. Our mission is to encourage people to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ was put on the cross for our sin and rose again for the salvation of all those who believe. The First Baptist Church of Waverly is a multi-generational and family oriented congregation with an active Sunday School ministry for all ages. Currently, we have two worship services. At 11 a.m, we have a worship service that features some of the great hymns of the faith, a choir and a pipe organ. At our PM Edition Worship service at 6 p.m. we have an informal contemporary service of praise and worship. In both services, we use multimedia resources in order to enhance our time together as the people of God. In spite of the different styles of these two services, our focus is still on Jesus Christ and both services offer Biblical preaching and teaching that is designed to help us have a closer relationship with the living Christ.
